John grew up in Portland, Oregon where he attended Jesuit high school followed by college at the UW. He earned a degree in Honors English Literature, magna cum laude, with a concentration in finance. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Johns professional career started with banking in a management training program. After 7 years of commercial banking he decided to focus solely on mortgage lending. By 1998 had founded his own company, Bellevue Home Mortgage. In 2010 Johns company merged with a regional mortgage bank, to take advantage of mortgage banking and private lending platforms.
John managed the Seattle region for mortgage lending by overseeing the daily sales and production functions for several branches until 2014. Then in 2015 John decided to work with Washington Trust Bank. In his mortgage career, John has served over 2500 satisfied clients, and is known for his skill in successfully completing difficult transactions. His care for his customers, and the responsive and competent service he provides them, has been the bedrock of his business career.
John lives in Bellevue, and has 3 sons; Nick, Michael, and Tyler. He loves to golf, boat, run, and is a developing chef. He loves to watch Husky Football, and has been known to be somewhat partisan on the subject. John has been deeply committed to Camp Four winds*Westward Ho on Orcas Island, where his boys have been third-generation campers. He has served on the camp board for 7 years, including 5 years as board chair. He has also served on the Yarrow Point town council and is Treasurer for the Bellevue Boys Lacrosse Club.
At Washington Trust Bank, John is a private banking and residential lending relationship manager covering the Western WA Region.
